If you have a unit that is not powering on at all, there are still a couple of troubleshooting steps that you can take in order to determine if the unit really needs to be repaired.
Power supply
Your unit is supplied with an external power supply. In order to check that the power supply is working correctly, please perform the following steps:
- Check the cable between between the power supply and the power outlet. Confirm if it is firmly attached to the power supply.
- If your power supply has a power LED, when connecting the power supply to a power outlet, verify if the LED is turned on (generally it's a green LED).
- If you get no power from the Power Supply, you might have a faulty power supply. If you have other C3 Micro-Cloud devices with a know working power supply, you can use one of them to ensure that the current one is, indeed, faulty
C3 Micro-Cloud unit
- Your unit should be correctly connected to the power supply. Please ensure that the power jack is correctly connected to the unit. It should be inserted all the way down so that it has a firm connection with the unit.
- Ensure that your power supply is also connected to the power outlet and it is working.
- If you connect the LAN port to a working switch, or the WAN port to a router-switch, in this step, the LEDs from the LAN/WAN port shall turn on. If this is not the case, it might be a good indication that the unit is not receiving power or is faulty.
- Press the power button on the C3 Micro-Cloud. Check that the power LED is visible (the color of the power LED is model dependent).
- If the C3 Micro-Cloud does not power on and you are sure that you have a working power supply and that it is correctly attached to the unit, then you probably have a faulty unit and it needs to be replaced.
- If you can't power on your unit but the LAN/WAN leds are blinking, there might be a problem with the power button. Please contact support in order to help you diagnose the issue.
If you have determined that your unit or power supply is faulty, please open a support ticket stating all the diagnostic tests that you performed and the final results.
