In some rare situations, namely when power suddenly breaks and the C3 was writing data to the disk, the C3 filesystem gets corrupted and into a situation that does not automatically recover.
To overcome this situation, Critical Links has developed a simple tool that attempts to recover the C3 filesystem. This tool has to be installed in a bootable flash drive, that starts the C3 and proceeds with the recovery. The steps for this are:
- Download from here the ISO file.
- Using a ISO creation utility, for example Rufus (https://rufus.ie/), create a bootable ISO image on a flash drive
- Connect a screen, and a keyboard to the C3, insert the flash drive, powerup the C3 and Press "DEL" or "ESC" to go into the C3 BIOS screen. Alternatively you can press F7 and go directly to the boot menu
- On the C3 BIOS select the flash drive as the first boot option, save the configuration and let the C3 boot from the flash drive.
- Watch the screen as the utility boots, and attempts to clear any filesystem errors. The utility will shut itself down after the recovery process.
- Remove the flash drive and restart the C3.
If the C3 does not start normally, please contact support@critical-links.com, with as much information as available about the error.
